Cher Lloyd covers Robyn's 'Dancing On My Own' - video

Cher Lloyd has performed a cover of Robyn's 'Dancing On My Own'. The X Factor star took to the streets of New York City to sing for US radio network iHeartRadio . "I chose the Robyn song to perform because I really like her as an artist. She does inspire me and I just feel like many of her songs are so good. "That one in particular was a dance track and then she did the version of it stripped down and I fell in love with it and that's why I like to do it." She also performed her single 'Want U Back' and admitted that she was "very nervous" about performing on the street in New York. Lloyd previously covered Usher's 'OMG' as she continues her promotional tour of the States. Cher Lloyd doesn't want to be a role model. The 'Swagger Jagger' singer - who is famed for her outspoken views - says she has no desire for young girls to be influenced by her but does want to show them it's okay to just be themselves. She said: 'I don't plan to be a role model. I'm not like, 'Yeah, I can change this, you should be like me.' But it's good to think that some girls do look up to me, and hopefully for the right reasons. The one thing I want to make clear to anyone who does look up to me is that they should be whoever they want to be and not worry what other people are doing. Just do what you want to do.' Cher, 19, also said she doesn't like it people don't stay true to themselves and try to dress like others. She told TOTP magazine: 'Nowadays I think vanity is the craziest thing ever. Everyone's struggling to look like somebody else, but why? It's tough but you should try and be happy with who you are.'

17:45, Friday, 22 June 2012 Cher Lloyd has been mobbed by a group of teenage fans outside a radio station in Philadelphia. After appearing at radio station WIOQ, the star's car was surrouned by fans - which led to the singer sticking her head out of the sun-roof and thanking them via megaphone, reports Digital Spy . Lloyd has been visiting regional radio stations to promote her new single Want U Back , which is currently inside the Top 30 on the US iTunes charts. The 18-year-old has regularly been tweeting her brats (the affectionate name she gives fans) asking them to come and meet her and so far, she hasnt been disappointed. The star was visiting Philadelphia radio station WIOQ on Saturday evening (June 16) during promotion for her new single 'Want U Back'. After her appearance, Lloyd was confronted by a crowd of enthusiastic fans who gathered around her car. The singer proceeded to stick her head out of the vehicle's sun-roof and thank her fans on a megaphone. Lloyd recently released 'Want U Back' in the US as her North American debut single. The track is currently gaining momentum and is inside the Top 30 on the US iTunes. 'Want U Back' has sold over 100,000 copies in the US so far, while the accompanying American music video has gained over 5 million YouTube hits to date. Cher Lloyd has performed a cover of an Usher hit. The singer performed an acoustic rendition of the American superstar's 2010 global smash 'OMG' as part of her promotional campaign in the US. Lloyd performed the track for Billboard magazine and spoke of her professional relationship with songwriter Savan Kotecha. "The thing with Savan is he's all about actually having fun when you're working," Lloyd explained. "That's why it's so good to work with him because he'll take a song and he will inspire me to change it, make it different and original. "He helped me along with the process of that competition [ The X Factor UK] and then he went on to help me with many other things and he still helps me today."
