Cher Lloyd to make US live debut at SXSW festival

Cher Lloyd has been announced as one of the performers for this year's South by Southwest (SXSW) music and film festival at Austin, Texas.

Lloyd, who came to prominence after taking fourth place in the seventh season of The X Factor, will make her US debut during three shows at SXSW - Idolator's party, the Nylon Magazine/Dub Frequency event and blogger Perez Hilton's annual SXSW showcase.

"I am so excited about coming over to the states and working with LA Reid," Lloyd said. "LA is a musical genius and has been such a great supporter of me. Now I just cannot wait to get on that stage and for everyone to hear my music."

Idolator's party will be held on March 15, while Nylon Magazine/Dub Frequency's party will be on March 16.

Lloyd will also join other artists during blogger Hilton's annual SXSW showcase on March 17.

The teenage singer will then release her new single 'Want U Back' in the US during April.
