Lloyd will release a solo version of the song in the US in the next few weeks, followed by the Snoop Dogg remix, as she launches her career in the States.

"America is a priority for me and it feels like it's a fresh start. I'm taking it seriously. I'll be out there for three weeks in May to get the ball rolling," she told the Sunday Mirror.

X Factor USA judge LA Reid is masterminding her US launch after signing her to Epic Records. He is currently planning a party in New York to introduce Lloyd to the US media.

'Want U Back' is already receiving heavy airplay on Sirius Satellite Radio and a performance on Late Show with David Letterman is being lined up. She is also in talks to support a "huge" artist on their nationwide tour.

"It's an amazing initial reaction to Cher. She's overwhelmed! . The pl an is to go out there for three or so weeks and introduce herself to America," a source added.
