Cher Lloyd: 'I want to get married as soon as possible'
The 'Swagger Jagger' singer, who was rumoured to have accepted the hairdresser's proposal earlier this year, has now said that she wants to tie the knot by the end of 2012.
"I'm engaged and want to get married as soon as possible. I can't wait," she told The Mirror.
"People might think I am too young because I'm 18 but they can say what they want. I am from a gypsy background and you are meant to get married at 18.
"I love Craig and he makes me happy. I know I am going to spend the rest of my life with him. I have been through a lot over the past few years and I deserve to have some happiness."
Lloyd revealed that Monk proposed to her on her 18th birthday and they are hoping to marry before the end of the year.
"He asked me on my birthday. I'm not going to say how he did it but it was very romantic.
"At the moment I am on tour so I can't do it but maybe it will happen in the summer. Basically, it will be as soon as we can."
Lloyd began dating Monk last summer, before deciding to move in with him in October.
