Cher Lloyd was the main attraction at a fashion show in New York, but let's hope her look doesn't catch on.

The young singer wore a backless snakeskin top and a neon pink mini skirt. But as she turned round, her stunning look was somewhat let down by the bra on show.

While it appeared to be decorated, it still wasn't quite attractive enough to get away with.

The X Factor singer, who is no stranger to America now, made her debut at New York Fashion Week yesterday (Tuesday), where she performed her hit single Want U Back.

This is the latest attempt from the 19-year-old to establish herself in the US.

Cher took to the stage for Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 - Tumbler and Tipsy event, with her trademark spikey microphone.

The singer donned a short pink satin skirt in a sty! le which has become familiar to her during her attempt to crack America.

She teamed the dress skirt with a snake-skin patterned top, which once she turned around revealed a cut away back that displayed an intricate red bra strap.

The look was completed with a simple pair of black heels and her hair fell in loose curls down her shoulders.

Putting the recent humiliation of V Festival behind her - when rogue festivalgoers threw bottles of urine at her, Cher performed with the 'swag' she became famous for.

Spikey: Cher Lloyd made sure she performed with her usual 'swag' for the American audience

Clearly delighted to be back in the country, Cher tweeted: 'Just landed in NY (: xxx.'

At the end of last month, following her on-stage violation, Cher shrugged off the incident and headed to American to appear on the Today show, NBC's prime time staple.

The show, which is watched by millions of Americans, was thought to be a crucial performance in the singer's quest to capture the American market.

It clearly paid off though, as she was invited back to perform during New York's most exciting week in front of the fashion world.

Over the last year Cher has certainly been trying hard to make her mark in US and so far the American public has welcomed her unique style of pop.

As well as her performance on the Today show, she recently performed at a party hosted by T! een Vogu e in LA and thousands of fans camped out in New York in the hope of catching a glimpse of the petite brunette as she prepared to perform at the Roosevelt Field Mall.

The performances and promotion come ahead to the release of her debut album Sticks + Stones in the US on September 18, ten months following it's UK release.

Cher made a name for herself on The X Factor in 2010, when she divided the public with her attitude, style and singing style.

Many critics thought she shouldn't have been put through judges' houses after she broke down during her audition in front of Cheryl Cole and Will.i.am.

Despite the mixed reception to the young singer, she ended up in fourth place in the series, which was eventually won by Matt Cardle.

Her album entered the UK Albums Chart at number four, whether it will reach higher in the US is yet to be seen.
