Cher Lloyd Helps Little Mix Jesy With Cyber Bullying

Cher Lloyd knows what it's like to have to deal with nasty comments from strangers at the same time as competing in the UK's biggest TV talent show - and now the 18-year-old is giving a current X Factor hopeful the benefit of her experience.

She swung into action when she heard that Jesy from Little Mix had been so upset by internet criticism of her weight that she had refused to go to a public event.

Speaking to This Morning, Cher explained: "I actually called her because I was at an awards ceremony and she didn't turn up with the rest of her band. And I was a bit like, 'Why isn't she here?'

So I spoke to the girls and they were saying she doesn't want to come out today because she doesn't feel good about herself.

"So I rang her up and I was like 'You've got the biggest platform ever. You've got a massive opportunity. Go out there, be happy'."

And she claimed that recording her debut album Sticks & Stones had helped her come to terms with the extraordinary amount of personal criticism she had received - much of it concerning her traveller heritage.

She explained: "I'm saying for everything that's ever gone on, and even pre-X Factor, it's just a message to say I know a lot of bad things have happened.

"I've been called very nasty words and stuff like that and it's all in the past now. I've done what I've always wanted to do.

"It's just final now that I've got something that I can be so proud of and forget all the bad things."
