She may have been Cheryl Cole's favourite act on the X Factor last year but it seems Cher Lloyd isn't so popular with will.i.am.

The singer released her debut album today but her highly-anticipated collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas star was nowhere to be seen on the track list.

But despite the obvious absence, Cher was still smiling as she admitted she has no idea why the track isn't on the album.

As she greeted her fans at her album signing in HMV in Manchester today, the 18-year-old singer said she is still happy with her record, Sticks + Stones.

'You know as much as I know' she replied in response to the misplaced song. 'But the album isn't missing a spark without it.'

Wearing black skinny jeans with a matching shirt and a smart burgundy coloured jacket, the former X Factor contestant waved excitedly to her fans and looked proud to be promoting the album.

It's been reported that t! he remov al of the duet was prompted after Simon Cowell sacked Cheryl Cole from the U.S. version of the X Factor.

Will is alleged to have threatened the mogul because Cher is signed to his record label, SyCo music.

The singer/songwriter is close friends with the Girls Aloud singer - and also manages her solo career - so it seems this may be the reason for him refusing to be on Cher's album.

But the Swagger Jagger singer has already enjoyed her first number one and seems optimistic about her debut release.

'Me and my team created this album for one purpose and that is for people to be able to listen to the whole thing without skipping a track,' she said.

'I've done it myself with albums in the past - there has only been one song I've enjoyed on an album I've been listening to.

'With mine, my aim was to make every song as strong as the one before it.'
