Cher Lloyd album's not one for the purists

There are solid pop songs on the album due out November 7 but her rapping won't win over hip hop purists who listen to her idol Nicki Minaj.

The track Playa Boi also unwisely samples Neneh Cherry's Buffalo Stance.

Cher's sound works best when it's light and poppy on songs Grow Up, End Up Here and Superhero which remind you of early Lily Allen.

She'll only sell a fraction of what One Direction will shift, but Cher will certainly be able to afford a full-length pair of tights after this release.
